We have big things to talk about with today's edition of the recap!
NEWS
Bond Beyond Ball: Pingris, Yap and Simon will throw a christmas party for their fans
According to Marc Pingris, the three of them had decided to host a party for their loyal fans. “Nag-usap kami, kumustahan, pinag-uusapan namin ang Big 3 party namin, nag-usap kami kanina pero during the game wala na, trabaho lang."
Even though I am not a fan of this big three, I respect them to the highest level. They are the big three that defined this era. Can you imagine 2004-2015 without a glimpse of them? The one thing that they did that not every other big three can say is succeed.
Clinging: Jerwin Gaco is staying afloat by playing in 'Ligang Labas'
Are you a Gaconatics? Your idol may not be in the PBA today but he is not giving up, yet. Jerwin is still trying out for Globalport, so the possibility of returning to the court is still there. To make a living, Jerwin admitted to Spin.ph that he is playing on smaller leagues. “Mahirap (i-balance) kasi syempre yung first priority ko is makabalik sa PBA, ‘di ba? Eh kailangan ko rin rumaket, kailangan ng income so nagpapaalam na lang pag may ganun.”
At 35 years old and with his limited skillset, Jerwin could never see the PBA court again. I am hoping that I am wrong. But still, the legacy that he left behind will forever be remembered.
What happened: Jayson Castro's agent revealed what happened on his contract extension
In an article of Joaquin Henson, Mr. Danny Espiritu explained the negotiation that happened for the extension of Jayson Castro.
“Sir MVP wanted to make Jayson happy. The CBA didn’t tender an offer by Nov. 10. After meeting with MVP, the contract was drafted and Jayson signed before the PBA opening on Nov. 20 in time to make the roster and join the parade of teams. We’re very grateful to Sir MVP for showing concern and taking care of Jayson. He told Jayson when he retires from basketball, he can work with the MVP Group in a corporate setting. Sir MVP asked Jayson to consider options of what area he’d like to work in. It was like a lifetime offer to stay with the MVP Group and Jayson is thankful for the opportunity.”
“First, there was never a formal offer, just a lot of texts and phone calls. Second, you don’t know what could happen in China. He’ll be all alone over there. What if he gets injured? So when Sir MVP called, it was a blessing for Jayson. Now he can focus on TNT and his PBA career without any distractions.”
Playing in China could have been a very exciting scenario but re-signing was still the better choice, with all the circumstances surrounding the Blur. The fact that he will have a job pass his PBA career should make him a much dangerous Blur.
RUMORS
Target: Ginebra wants Art Dela Cruz?
Factuality Meter - 10%
In our recent Rumors recap, the owner of Blackwater assured their believers that ADC is not going anywhere. Ironically, a big trade rumor was dumped by the #1 source. According to him, coach Tim see Bong Hawkins on the sophomore.
I don't think it is true. With Joe Devance, Kevin Ferrer, Chris Ellis and Aljon Mariano, Ginebra has a lot of versatile forwards to work around. If they want to trade for ADC, they will need to give up one or two of those stated above. And even with their struggles, coach Tim is not the kind of coach who makes a big trade after winning the most recent conference.
