The battles for the awards this week are tighter than usual.
Clutch Player of the Week: This is the player that made the right plays in crunchtime to help his team in a close game.
Monster of the Week: This is the baller that shows the best statline for the week.
Mr. Quality Minutes of the Week: This is the player that contributed a lot in a short amount of playing time.
Junior Player of the Week: This is the best player of the week who is still young. He is either a rookie, a sophomore or a third year player who is 24 years old and below.
Disappointment of the Week: This is the player that played bad and did not produce at par with the amount of minutes he played.
Clutch Player of the Week: Aldrech Ramos - Sealed their game against Rain or Shine with two three-pointers
Aldrech did not start their game against Rain or Shine, very well. But, when the needs came, he rose up to the occasion. Aldrech just added another reason why Star should received an excellent grade in acquiring him last offseason. His maturity as a shooter is already in an elite level, making him a reliable clutch scorer.
1st Runner-Up: Chris Banchero - Game-winning three against Meralco
Disappointing Player of the Week: Carl Bryan Cruz - 22 MINS | 0 PT | 0 REB | 0 AST
For a guy to record any positive counting stats for 22 minutes is so ridiculous. Being a rookie, CBC should learn a lot from this kind of games. But, it is important that he doesn't allow this to happen again.
1st Runner-up: Ed Daquioag - 14 MINS | 7 T.O.s
Monster of the Week: June Mar Fajardo - 15 PTS 12 REBS | 5 BLKS
Against the Road Warriors, Fajardo was not asked to do much on the offensive end and made sure that their defense was solid. His ability to be the anchor of the defense is the primary reason why Fajardo deserves to be in the discussion for the greatest PBA player, ever.
1st Runner-up: Mac Belo - 9 PTS | 5 REBS | 5 ASTS | 5 STLS
Mr. Quality Minutes of the Week: Kelly Williams - 20 MINS | 18 PTS | 10 REBS
The Machine Gun is having a resurgence. Coach Nash' share the wealth philosophy has reignited the aggressiveness in him. Maybe, he is all in a better shape because he glides way smoother this season than the last 2 to 3 years.
1st Runner-up: Mark Borboran - 22 MINS | 18 PTS | 6 REBS | 2 STLS
Junior Player of the Week: Chris Newsome - 23 PTS | 8 REBS | 5 ASTS
Chris Newsome continue to be the best stat-filler in the league, today. He has been the center of their scheme from day one and it is hard to question that decision as the games, pass by. In a game against the rugged and tugged Aces, he was still able to put up that production.
1st Runner-up: Troy Rasario - 17 PTS | 9 REBS
