Amazing Facts: About Stanley Pringle, Gilas Cadet and etc.

(c) PBA Media Bureau

Here are some awesome things to complete your PBA day.

Mahindra had never won a game against Ginebra
In six conferences, Mahindra had never toppled Ginebra. I don't see that streak ending, anytime soon. Mahindra has basically re-do their entry to the league with what they did in the offseason.

12 of the 14 Gilas Cadets are from UAAP
Yes, we already have 14 Gilas cadets. Paul Desiderio and Jett Manuel were added, recently. The only two non-UAAP players are Matthew Wright and Jiovani Jalalon. FEU has the most representative with five (Carl Bryan Cruz, Mac Belo, Russell Escoto, Mike Tolomia and Roger Pogoy).

Does that mean that UAAP is the better league than the NCAA? Not really.

Stanley Pringle is in a 35 games double-digit scoring streak
Terrence Romeo will always be the headline in the Batang Pier universe but Pringle deserves an equal limelight. His last single-digit scoring happened in 2015 Governors' Cup against Star in the playoffs. He is the embodiment of consistency. As long as injury doesn't interfere, I can see that streak reach 50.

Two guards are in the top 8 of rebounding
Rebounds have always been a statistic dominated by bigmen but the landscape is changing. Chris Newsome and Scottie Thompson are currently (Dec. 17) the  #4 and #8 rebounder this season, respectively.

In the NBA, the league is now being dominated by bigmen who can shoot. In the PBA, guards are starting to dominate the rebounding battles.
