Reaching the top of the league is a process. And for these three teams, trading for picks and young players should be done, right now.
Miami is counting on Bosh' health to be the key in opening up the right amount of space of a spot for another star. Even if that happens, can the unproven core of Whiteside, Winslow and Dragic attract one?
I doubt it, especially with the expected rise of the cap to 104 Million. And if you also consider that the 2018 1st of Miami is already traded, selling now becomes a logical choice. Tyler Johnson, James Johnson, Dion Waiters and Josh Richardson could be coveted by some of the contenders out there.
Why? Because what is the point of keeping an injured Andrew Bogut and a bundle of 30+ years old point guards if your current record is 6-18!
Sacramento is battling for a playoff spot but think about it, will it really change the culture? I think the answer is no. Demarcus' bird right can be traded so the Kings can still expect a huge haul for him. It is just pointless in keeping your franchise player who led you to a disarray and never to the playoffs.
