Is Lebron gunning for the MVP?
A fantastic outing against the Charlotter Hornets made a lot of people and analysts, buzzing about Lebron James. He delivered 44 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to help himself reach different milestones. One of the most intriguing queries floated around is the possibility that Lebron could be working his way to his fifth MVP award. Russell Westbrook has been putting a show with his triple-double run but history is against him because almost all of the last 30 MVPs were part of one of the top 2 seeds in each conference.
Should David Fizdale be the front runner now, for the Coach of the Year award?
The Grizzlies silently put up a 17-8 record even with a lot of injury issues, including the highest paid player in the league, Mike Conley. Even without Mike and Chandler Parsons, Memphis dominated the super super team, Golden State Warriors! It could be argued that they are fit to defeat the Warriors because they can easily exploit the flaws of the #1 team in the league. But, the fact remains that they did not have Conley and Parsons and yet they managed to defeat them by 21 points! I strongly believe that the coaching had a huge contribution with it.
