The Sunday games of the PBA are considered to be the main event of each week. A lot of Filipinos used their Sunday for leisure time and majority of the basketball fans want to watch a PBA game.

Knowing that, the PBA made a drastic scheduling decision of putting Ginebra in 9 of the 10 double-headers in Sundays. It looks logical but it will not really help them in increase their following.

Why?

#1 The Sunday main event is the best spot to focus on other storylines and rivalries around the league. Some of the match-ups that should have been considered are Alaska-San Miguel, NLEX-Star, Star-ROS and Alaska-Globalport.

If those three games were set on Sunday's main game, more people will be able to watch it and their fans will be urged more to watch live because of the allure of being on the Sunday main event. That should help them solidify and attract more fans which means more people on the PBA universe.

#2 Ginebra should have some Friday games. This is to maximize the "TGIF" effect. A lot of people want to chill out at this point after five days of work and seeing Ginebra on the schedule will provide an additional drive for the fans to watch live.

#3 Ginebra will feel the negative effects of it during the playoffs. Financially, it is good for the PBA for Ginebra to make a deep run in the playoffs. Unfortunately, a steady schedule will program their body and that will need some adjustment to shake-it-off.
